This might seem like rather an odd inclusion, but hatred and good manners can live side-by-side in perfect harmony. It's called hypocrisy. Try working in the service industry and you will know exactly what I mean. Does holding a door open for someone else kill you? How about saying 'please', 'thank you' and 'you're welcome'? You don't do it? F*ck you, buddy. It is not necessary to go as far as saying 'bless you' if you feel it is culturally inappropriate or overly whimsical. But at least being functionally pleasant to those around you might make life a little more pleasant.
