Agreed. But there's no way I'm calling the toilet the restroom. What the hell is restful about sitting in a stinking hole squeezing a 3 pound sharpened log through my delicate ringpiece?
I'm not saying one is right and the other is wrong, but why do we have to have both? Can't we just chuck all the duplicate words into a pot and draw them out and say that the first one chosen is the new English-speaking standard?
